Supreme Court Upholds Biodun Oyebanji as APC Candidate for Ekiti Governorship Election
The Supreme Court of Nigeria has affirmed the nomination of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the June 20 governorship election.
A five‑member panel delivered a unanimous judgment, dismissing the appeal filed by party aspirant Mrs. Abimbola Olawumi. The court described the appeal as lacking merit and upheld the earlier ruling of the Court of Appeal, which had validated Oyebanji’s emergence as the party’s flag bearer on June 18.
The decision clears the way for Oyebanji to contest the election under the APC banner, reinforcing the party’s internal processes and the judiciary’s role in resolving intra‑party disputes.
