Nigerian singer Skales has stirred reactions online after voicing doubts about the contenders slated for the 2027 presidential election.
Skales asserts no candidate can lead Nigeria to a better future
The dialogue started when journalist Oseni Rufai asked social media users whom they would support in the upcoming presidential vote. Skales replied he would back none.
This prompted a user named Jayfreshworld to comment that the artist had not researched the options sufficiently.
Discussion surrounding the 2027 candidates
Following Skales’ declaration of non‑support, another X user challenged his view, insisting that qualified candidates exist on the list.
The user wrote: “When you say none means you haven’t done your research, they’re good candidates on that list”
Skales held his ground, responding: “To be honest, none! I don’t see any good candidate capable of taking this country to a better place.”
His remarks have ignited debate among Nigerians on social platforms, with many sharing contrasting opinions about the 2027 election and discussing the traits desired in the nation’s next leader.
The exchange has also intensified conversations about voter expectations and public trust in political leadership ahead of the next presidential poll.
