Senator Rufai Sani Hanga Rejects Kwankwaso’s Leg Condition Claims as a Sham
Senator Rufai Sani Hanga, once a close political ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso, has fired back at the vice‑presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) over repeated references to his leg condition and age.
Hanga described Kwankwaso’s continual mention of his leg problem as “nothing but a sham” and insisted that the issue does not hinder his ability to serve in any legislative or executive capacity.
He challenged Kwankwaso’s logic, asking, “How can Kwankwaso cite my age and health condition to deny me the chance to contest for deputy governor or my Senate seat?”
The senator went further, stating that he is actually two years younger than Kwankwaso and, as of today, enjoys better health than his former ally.
“As of today, I’m healthier than Kwankwaso. His frequent references to my leg condition are nothing but a sham that cannot stand. Let me tell you, on age, he is two years older than I am,” Hanga declared.
He also pointed out that his leg ailment has no impact on his legislative duties, questioning Kwankwaso’s own age trajectory: “If he is talking about my age, how old was he when he became governor, and how old is he now as a vice‑presidential candidate?”
