A video spreading rapidly across social platforms has provoked varied responses after a gentleman reportedly ended up in hospital having ingested hair relaxer, believing it to be ice cream.
Sources linked to the viral footage say the episode unfolded when the individual opened a fridge and spotted a small tub marked “Mizani Butter Blend.”
Assuming the container held butter or a frozen dessert, he proceeded to eat its contents.

Although the tub carries the name Mizani Butter Blend, it also bears the label “Relaxer Medium/Normal,” revealing that it holds a chemical hair straightener rather than an edible item.
The circulating clip depicts the man reclining on a hospital stretcher with noticeably puffy eyes, while witnesses assert he received treatment for the chemical ingestion.
While the precise details remain unverified, online commentators claim he was admitted to mitigate the relaxer’s effects.

Since surfacing, the footage has ignited extensive discussion online, with many questioning how the product could be confused with food, and others criticizing the choice to keep a hair relaxer inside a refrigerator.
Public reactions
Tunchy remarked, “Seriously? Mistakenly? This is nonsense. Does this person even have a working brain? He can’t tell what relaxer smells like? What the heck?”
Oscar noted, “His lips, tongue and inner mouth aren’t swollen. He’s still speaking, meaning he can at least swallow saliva. Give me a break.”

Jericho added, “Does this imply his senses aren’t functioning? The odor of relaxer differs from ice cream, so I find it hard to believe.”
ToluEsther joked, “He was expecting vanilla ice cream and got ‘extra straight’ instead. Someone should check his tongue.”
Nyamisaac questioned, “Why would anyone store a relaxer in the fridge? What purpose does that serve?”
