Oyebanji Holds Private Meeting with PDP Candidate Wole Oluyede
Ekiti State Governor-elect Biodun Oyebanji is currently engaged in a closed-door discussion with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship hopeful Wole Oluyede.
The meeting, which also includes Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and several All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders from the state, took place shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oyebanji the winner of the June 20 governorship election.
Returning Officer Professor Adenike Oladiji, Vice‑Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, announced the results early Sunday at INEC’s office on Iyin Road in Ado‑Ekiti.
Observers say the dialogue forms part of Oyebanji’s post‑election reconciliation drive, aimed at fostering unity and peace across political lines.
Earlier on Sunday, Oyebanji disclosed that he had reached out to Oluyede as well as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Dare Bejide, urging all stakeholders to collaborate for Ekiti’s development regardless of party affiliation.
Sources close to the proceedings told The Nation that the talks centre on post‑election harmony, maintaining peace, and ensuring the state’s continued progress.
As of the time of this report, the meeting remains ongoing.
