Brentford Complete Signing of Callum Wilson
Brentford have confirmed the acquisition of experienced striker Callum Wilson on a one‑year deal following his exit from West Ham after the Hammers’ relegation from the Premier League.
Head coach Keith Andrews welcomed the move, highlighting Wilson’s proven goal‑scoring record and the value he brings to the squad’s younger forwards.
“Callum is someone that everyone will be familiar with. He has been a Premier League goalscorer for such a long time,” Andrews said.

Andrews added that Wilson will provide more attacking options and help players like Igor Thiago and Kaye Furo develop through his experience.
The former England international scored seven goals in 32 appearances for West Ham last season and has previously played for Bournemouth and Newcastle United. He earned nine England caps between 2018 and 2023, netting twice and representing the Three Lions at the 2022 World Cup.
Newcastle United Secure Ajax Talent Sean Steur
In a separate move, Newcastle United have completed the signing of highly rated Ajax midfielder Sean Steur in a deal worth up to £23 million.
The 18‑year‑old arrived on Tyneside on Wednesday, passed his medical and signed a five‑year contract that runs until 2031.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be here,” Steur said. “It’s a giant club in the Premier League and it was always my dream to play in the best league in the world.

Steur broke into Ajax’s first team during the second half of last season, making a start in the De Klassieker victory over Feyenoord at just 17 years old. His underlying statistics placed him at the top among Eredivisie midfielders aged 18 or younger for chances created, total carries and duel success, while ranking highly in passes completed, passing accuracy, tackles, possession won and duels won.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe praised the young Dutchman’s potential, stating that Steur possesses the qualities to become a valuable long‑term asset for the Magpies.
“We see real potential in Sean and believe he has the characteristics to become a valuable player for us for years to come,” Howe said.
