Derenle Edun Marries Himself on 45th Birthday
The entertainer shared a video on his Instagram page, announcing that he had chosen to “marry” himself as part of his birthday celebration.
He said the decision was a way of showing self‑love and recognising his personal journey through the years.
Derenle explained that he has gone through many phases in life, including challenges, fame, and personal growth, and decided to honour himself for standing strong through it all.
The actor added that the gesture was not about a real marriage ceremony but a personal statement of acceptance.
According to him, he was celebrating every version of himself that has survived different experiences and changes over time.
“Till death didn’t do us part. So I married myself. After 45 years of chaos, glitter, survival, reinvention, controversy, resilience, heartbreak and triumph, I remain the greatest love story I’ve ever known,” he said in the video.
“I am the bride and the groom. And I am marrying every version of myself that fought to get here. Today, I marry the only person who never left my side: ME!” he declared.
