The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has made serious allegations. It claims coalition partners received sponsorship to initiate a court case against former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and other leaders.
ADC National Vice Chairman for North-West, Jafar Sani, leveled the accusations. He stated this followed a leadership and stakeholders’ meeting. Sani alleged the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) aims to sabotage ADC’s reorganization efforts.
“The APC desperately seeks to infiltrate opposition unity in Kaduna,” Sani declared. He lamented the ruling party’s alleged sponsorship of internal crises. These actions reportedly aim to frustrate ADC’s ongoing restructuring.
Sani specifically addressed journalists about the situation. “Sponsors backed coalition partners to file a case against Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,” he stated. He added that a “mercenary group” illegally claimed suspension of ADC State Chairman Elder Patrick Didam Ambut.
The ADC reaffirmed expulsions of members accused of misconduct. This endorsement came from the State Working Committee under Ambut’s leadership. “We uphold the expulsion of Deputy Chairman Alh. Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha and eight others,” Sani confirmed.
Additionally, three individuals faced party blacklisting. Hon. Adamu Ahmed Dattijo, Alh. Suleiman Abdullahi, and Sen. Musa Bello were penalized. Their offense involved initiating court proceedings against El-Rufai without exhausting internal dispute channels.
