Tiwi Remi, the wife of popular Nollywood actor Kunle Remi, has opened up about her decision to stay away from most social media platforms. She says she only uses LinkedIn and avoids apps such as Instagram, TikTok, and 𝕏.
Why Tiwi Remi Stepped Away from Social Media
Many people are surprised that she has little or no online presence despite her husband’s fame. Tiwi explained that her choice began long before she married Kunle Remi, when she felt uncertain about her direction and did not want to be active online without a clear purpose.
“So the big response for why I was not on social media was that I had no idea who I was and what I was meant to be contributing to other people, and therefore, I didn’t feel like being online and using my influence in a lukewarm way was enough to justify spending so much time on an app.”

Self‑Discovery Before Marriage
She said she preferred to spend that time understanding herself rather than scrolling through feeds aimlessly. Later, she came to see her decision as part of the life she would eventually lead, especially knowing that Kunle Remi already commands a strong public profile and constant media attention.
Adjusting to Life as Kunle Remi’s Wife
After marrying Kunle Remi, Tiwi noticed how his global fan base receives updates about him while she remains almost invisible online. This contrast made her even more aware of her offline lifestyle. She reiterated that she does not have the social media apps on her personal phone; if she ever needs to check Instagram or TikTok, she would have to borrow her husband’s phone when he is home and not using it.
Family Life and Recent Milestones
Kunle Remi and Tiwi publicly confirmed their relationship in January 2024 when he introduced her as his wife. They later held traditional and white wedding ceremonies in Ibadan and Lagos. The couple welcomed their first child in March 2025 after a challenging pregnancy period.
