President Bola Tinubu has characterized his journey to Nigeria’s highest office as a path marked by “numerous obstacles,” attributing his presidential victory to divine intervention and steadfast perseverance.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s turbulent pre-election period, Tinubu described severe socio-economic strains that tested citizens’ resilience. The 2023 election unfolded amid widespread fuel shortages, disruptive currency reforms, and critical food insecurity.

“I faced significant hurdles en route to the presidency,” Tinubu stated. He emphasized that many Nigerians endured extreme hardship during this period, with some struggling to afford basic daily meals.
