Nigerian celebrity couple Temi Otedola and music star Mr Eazi have revealed the intense pressures they faced during their wedding planning. They specifically addressed why they decided against holding their court wedding in Nigeria.
The pair initially planned a simple court ceremony in Nigeria. They quickly realized maintaining privacy would be challenging. Such an event would inevitably attract public attention.
This privacy concern made them reconsider. They explored having court officials conduct the ceremony privately in their living room. While Temi liked this intimate option, Mr Eazi felt uncomfortable with the arrangement.
The couple then considered the United Kingdom for their civil ceremony. However, Temi felt the location lacked personal significance. After careful deliberation, they agreed on Monaco. This destination held deeper meaning for both partners.
Temi admitted she underestimated the marriage process. She initially believed it involved simple paperwork. The reality proved more complex with extensive administration.
The couple later held a private religious ceremony. This took place at Hallgrimskirkja Church in Reykjavik, Iceland. Reflecting on their experience, Otedola shared:
Three weddings in three months is insane. If we went to the courthouse in Nigeria, it wouldn’t be as private as we wanted.
I thought getting married was just deciding and signing papers. I didn’t know there was a mountain of administration.
