The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denounced a fraudulent notice circulating about planned state and local government congresses. Party leaders confirmed the document falsely claiming upcoming elections for new members lacks any official authorization.
In a joint statement from ADC Chairmen’s Forum leaders Hon. Kingsley Temitope Ogga (Kogi State) and Hon. Kennedy Odion (Edo State), the party revealed they met with National Chairman Senator David Mark on Monday. The forum expressed shock at the counterfeit publication’s circulation.
During their meeting, Senator Mark categorically stated the congress notice did not originate from his office. He confirmed having no prior knowledge of the document and emphasized it was completely unknown to the National Working Committee (NWC).
The ADC Chairmen’s Forum formally advised all stakeholders to ignore the fabricated notice. They confirmed the party currently has no plans to conduct state or local government-level congresses.
“This publication is illegal, invalid, and carries no weight whatsoever,” the forum declared. “We urge all party members, stakeholders, and the public to disregard it entirely.”
Concluding their statement, the chairmen reaffirmed unwavering loyalty to Senator Mark’s NWC leadership. They stressed their commitment to the party’s success in upcoming elections, including the 2027 general polls.
