Emmanuel Otti chairs the Nenadi Usman-led Labour Party (LP) faction in Abia State. He has accused Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman, and his supporters. Otti claims they violated a Supreme Court ruling issued in April 2025.
Mr. Otti expressed deep concern. He noted that a court order had specifically halted LP congresses nationwide. Yet, the Abure faction allegedly disregarded this directive.
Speaking to journalists on Monday, the Abia LP Chairman dismissed these recent congresses. He called them a “Kangaroo exercise.”
Otti further warned of serious consequences. He suggested the actions could “attract the wrath of the gods.”
“A Supreme Court judgment was delivered in April,” Otti reminded reporters. “That ruling must be adhered to strictly.”
He emphasized the legal implications. “Going against the law of the land invites repercussions,” Otti stated. “The gods will hit you for such defiance.”
He reiterated his stance on the congresses. “Any congress held by them was a ‘Kangaroo exercise’,” he concluded.
Defending Governor Alex Otti’s Administration
Moving to the welfare of LP members in Abia, Otti addressed claims by opposition parties. He asserted that Governor Alex Otti had not abandoned party members.
He clarified that all party members who contributed to Governor Otti’s victory are well-accommodated. They are fully integrated into the current administration.
A recent tour confirmed this, he revealed. His party conducted a sensitisation and evaluation tour. This covered various Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state. LP members expressed satisfaction with Governor Otti’s performance.
The LP Chairman then looked ahead to 2027. He confidently declared that Governor Otti and the Labour Party would win elections. This would happen across all parts of Abia State. He based this prediction on the Governor’s “unprecedented performance.”
