The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has once more refuted claims. These claims suggest the party has chosen a candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Instead, the ADC flagbearer will emerge from a primary election. The party plans to conduct this process.
Bolaji Abdullahi, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, issued a statement on Sunday. He described the initial reports as false and misleading. Abdullahi stated they were not traceable to any official ADC communication channel.
“The African Democratic Congress confirms its earlier statement,” Abdullahi declared. “Videos and social media posts about a ‘picked’ candidate are entirely false. They should be disregarded by the public.”
He further clarified that a timetable for the primaries has been released. This process will elect the party’s flagbearer for the 2026 Osun governorship election. All aspirants must strictly adhere to these guidelines.
“The ADC remains committed to high standards of internal democracy,” he concluded. “We assure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process for all.”
