Umar Jada, a prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State, has announced his resignation from the party. He is also a known ally of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar.
His resignation was detailed in a letter dated December 1, 2025. The letter, which became public on Tuesday in Yola, announced his immediate departure. Jada was serving as the assistant national publicity secretary and zonal publicity secretary for the ADC. He stated, “I took this painful decision to refocus my attention on other critical life commitments.”
Jada emphasized that his decision was purely personal. He arrived at it after careful reflection on his current responsibilities and future direction. He described stepping down as a difficult but necessary choice. This allows him to attend to pressing personal matters that demand his full attention.
He expressed deep gratitude for the trust and support shown to him during his tenure. Jada called it an honour to contribute to the ADC’s growth, visibility, and strength. He valued the experiences, teamwork, and ideals they upheld. These efforts, he noted, were all in pursuit of a better, more democratic Nigeria.
Jada affirmed his continued respect for the party’s leadership. He also extended his unwavering goodwill towards the ADC. He pledged to support the party’s values and aspirations in the future, as his circumstances permit.
