Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has strongly criticized Senator Orji Uzor Kalu. This comes after Kalu claimed opposition politicians were fueling Nigeria’s rising insurgency.
From Port Harcourt, Eze issued a statement. He described Kalu’s allegation as “disgraceful and unsubstantiated”. Eze called it “a high display of sycophancy, eye service, and betrayal of the highest order”.
Eze challenged the former Abia State governor. He urged Kalu to “be man enough” and confront President Bola Tinubu. Kalu, he said, should address “the stark reality” of Tinubu’s “woeful and clueless performance” as president.
Eze questioned Kalu’s premise. “How could a sane mind, not suffering from political hallucination, assume opposition politicians are sponsoring bandits and violence?” he asked. This, he suggested, was aimed at destabilizing President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He further stated, “Orji Uzor Kalu should be bold and patriotic enough. He must tell Tinubu, hook, line, and sinker, that Nigeria is sitting on a keg of gunpowder. The nation is hopelessly bleeding under his nose.”
Eze emphasized that President Tinubu needs “visionary, truthful, and proactive friends”. He does not need “lily-livered politicians”. These politicians, Eze added, “speak from both sides of their mouths just to curry political favour”.
He advised them to “proffer solutions”. These solutions should address the “spate of kidnapping, killings, and wanton destruction of lives and property”. This continues despite “colossal sums of money” spent by the Federal Government on insecurity. “Stop apportioning blame,” Eze urged.
Eze also criticized Senator Adams Oshiomhole. Oshiomhole holds a similar view to Kalu.
Eze addressed both senators: “My dear Senators Kalu and Oshiomhole, what is happening in our country is not calculated violence.” He called it “an indicator that President Tinubu has totally failed to protect Nigerians”.
Eze asserted, “He has no solution to the security challenges currently bedeviling Nigeria.” “He is clueless, and this is disgraceful,” Eze continued. “Advise him and do not blame anybody.”
Eze dismissed the idea of a “calculated attempt” to destabilize the government. “Go and advise him to sit up and protect Nigerians,” Eze insisted. “He should face governance. He should not set his eyes on 2027, especially after failing woefully as President.”
Eze Challenges Kalu, Oshiomhole to Name Insecurity Sponsors
Eze then challenged Kalu and Oshiomhole directly. He demanded they name the sponsors of insecurity in Nigeria. Their failure to do so, Eze argued, “is an act of sheer cowardice”. It also implies they “are privy to what is going on in the country”.
“‘Name them if you know them,’ Eze pressed. ‘If you know them, then you are part of them.’ He further asked, ‘Who are these politicians? Who are bent on ensuring Tinubu fails in office? Just as they allegedly tried to undermine former President Goodluck Jonathan?’ Eze directed these questions at Orji Uzor Kalu and Adams Oshiomhole.
Eze concluded by expressing disappointment. “It is unfortunate that Senators Kalu and Oshiomhole,” he said, “preferred to blame opposition politicians.” This happened instead of addressing Nigeria’s security challenges. He noted their lack of “boldness to name those that he has in mind”.
