A recent incident involving a woman faking her death to evade a thrift contribution debt has gone viral. The story has sparked widespread discussion online.
Identified as Imisi, the woman had reportedly defaulted on her “ajo” (thrift contribution) payments. An Instagram post by @babyblogger_new brought the situation to light.
As repayment demands grew, Imisi and her sister reportedly orchestrated an elaborate deception.
They filmed a video simulating Imisi’s death. This footage was then shared with the thrift group members.
The widely circulated video showed Imisi motionless. She lay wrapped in white cloth. Cotton was placed in her nostrils. This created the illusion of death.
Concurrently, her sister sent a message to the group. She alleged Imisi had passed away due to threats over the outstanding debt.
This bizarre occurrence generated extensive online commentary. Many social media users dubbed it an “unprecedented debt evasion tactic.” Some humorously suggested Imisi merited an award for her performance.
Whether Imisi has since settled her debt is unconfirmed. The episode underscores extreme measures some individuals take to avoid financial obligations.
