Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate, Boma Akpore, has revealed a significant personal setback. His relationship was advancing towards marriage. However, it ended abruptly due to a rejection from his partner’s family.
The reality television star explained his serious intentions. He stated that his plans to marry the lady were concrete. Boma was even preparing to travel to the United States in August. His goal was to purchase an engagement ring for her.
The situation changed dramatically, Boma recalled. His partner’s family intervened. They refused to accept him, citing various things they had “heard” about him.
The BBNaija star believes this rejection stemmed directly from public scrutiny. He attributes it to the challenges associated with his fame.
“I met someone I truly liked,” Boma recounted. “I was going to marry her. Her engagement was planned for last August. I intended to go to America, get the ring, and bring it back. I told her I would marry her because I genuinely liked her.”
He continued, “It was an amazing relationship. We had minor ups and downs, but it felt perfect. I believed our relationship was perfect until her family got involved. They flatly rejected me, saying, ‘This guy? Hell no, impossible.’”
“That collapsed everything,” Boma lamented. “It was very discouraging. If I wasn’t in entertainment or the public eye, certain things about me would remain private. Being a public figure comes with a price. That is simply what you have to pay.”
