The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has announced a significant change for Katsina United. Their home games are now moving to Ilorin for the season. This directive was issued on Thursday, outlining a new temporary base for the club.
Katsina United’s New Home Venue
The Rashidi Yekini Stadium in Ilorin will serve as Katsina United’s temporary home. This relocation follows earlier crowd control issues. The club was initially moved to the New Jos Stadium. That change happened after crowd trouble disrupted their NPFL home game against Barau FC.
With this latest decision, Katsina United will face Enyimba this weekend. This is their Matchday 14 fixture. The team hopes to recover from a recent 2-0 defeat. They lost to Niger Tornadoes at the Bako Kotangora Stadium in Minna. This loss placed them 13th on the table with 17 points. The league is now approaching a crucial phase.
Remo Stars Celebrate Hard-Fought Victory
Meanwhile, Remo Stars assistant coach Sulaiman Folarin has praised his players. He commended them for a hard-fought 1-0 win over Kano Pillars. The match took place on Wednesday. It was held at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.
Victor Mbaoma secured the win in the first half. This goal provided Remo Stars with a valuable response. They had previously suffered a home loss to Rangers.
Folarin emphasized the importance of the result for the team’s confidence. “It was a good game for us,” he stated. “We lost at home in our last match against Rangers.” He added, “The boys fought hard to get the victory. Overall, it’s a great game.”
Addressing their performance, Folarin noted, “Yes, we lost so many scoring chances. But defensively, we are a little bit better.” He promised further improvements. “We will improve more on goal scoring before our next game,” he concluded.
Remo Stars are set to host Barau FC in Abeokuta this weekend. They aim to build on their midweek momentum in the NPFL.
