Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, recently claimed Nigerians will vote for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in 2027. He stated this definitively.
El-Rufai believes the wave of defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC) will not sway voters. He affirmed Nigerians will still elect leaders of their own choice in 2027.
The former Minister noted widespread dissatisfaction with both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC. He boldly declared that 230 million Nigerians would triumph over 25 governors, regardless of defections.
El-Rufai Reflects on Plateau State
El-Rufai shared a personal story. He recounted visiting Plateau State weekly 40 years ago when his fiancée served there. Even after marriage, they often spent weekends in Jos. However, he lamented that conditions in Jos, Plateau, have since deteriorated significantly.
He expressed hope that improved leadership at both state and national levels could unite Plateau State. This unity, he stressed, would transcend ethnic and religious divides. His vision is for Plateau to reclaim its status as the ‘Home of Peace and Tourism.’ He concluded with a prayer for divine assistance in achieving this.
Nigerians’ Choice for 2027
He asserted that Nigerians nationwide are weary of the APC and PDP governments. While some governors are defecting from PDP to APC, El-Rufai claimed ‘Nigerians are defecting to ADC.’ He declared, ‘By God’s grace, 230 million Nigerians will defeat 25 governors.’
El-Rufai emphasized, ‘Nigerians have decided that in 2027, they will vote for ADC.’ He called for unity among party members and the selection of strong candidates. He also highlighted ADC’s commitment to inclusive policies for all citizens. He noted that ADC reserves 40% of leadership positions for youth. Additionally, 35% of contested leadership roles are for women. He described ADC as ‘a party for young people and women.’
