Nigerian-British heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma has clinched the Breakthrough Athlete of the Year honor at the 2025 British Sports Awards, capping a remarkable year for the 20-year-old boxing prodigy.
Undefeated Record and Stunning Knockout
Itauma remains undefeated with 13 professional victories, including 11 knockouts. His most explosive performance came in August when he floored Dillian Whyte in the opening round during their Saudi Arabia bout. This dominant display announced Itauma as a serious future world title challenger.
Promoter Frank Warren celebrated the achievement publicly, praising Itauma’s rapid ascent in boxing’s competitive heavyweight division.
Next Challenge Against Franklin
The Queensberry Promotions fighter prepares for a January 24 showdown against American Jermaine Franklin at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena. Franklin presents a unique test, having never been knocked out in 26 professional fights despite facing top opponents.
Nigerian Homecoming Celebration
Itauma recently visited Nigeria during the country’s 65th Independence Day celebrations. He drew large crowds as special guest at Lagos’ “Chaos in the Ring” boxing event, connecting with his heritage fans.
