Nigerian Contenders for Top Honors
Multiple Nigerian players earned nominations across key categories. Reigning African Player of the Year Victor Osimhen aims to defend his title. His performances for Galatasaray keep him among favorites.
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali received a nomination. His standout displays at AFCON 2024 earned him Goalkeeper of the Year consideration. Young defender Daniel Bameyi competes for Young Player of the Year.
In women’s football, Rasheedat Ajibade and Esther Okoronkwo vie for Player of the Year. Chiamaka Nnadozie is shortlisted for Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
