Super Falcons Goalkeeper Receives Promised House Documents
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has finally received the title deeds for the house promised to every member of Nigeria’s victorious 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations squad.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) announced the handover on Monday via its official X account, sharing a photograph that shows NFF President Ibrahim Gusau and Director of Competitions Ruth David presenting the documents to Nnadozie.
The caption on the post read: “NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau presenting to goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie the certificate to the house promised the Super Falcons by the FGN for winning last year’s WAFCON title. Right is Ruth David, NFF’s Director of Competitions.”
The federation did not disclose whether the remaining players from the championship‑winning team have also obtained their property papers.
Following the WAFCON triumph, President Bola Tinubu pledged a cash reward of $100,000 for each player, $50,000 for every back‑room staff member, and a house for every squad member.
Although the monetary awards were announced immediately after the victory, public confirmation of the cash payments only emerged recently, and the housing documents were handed over on Monday.
National Sports Commission chairman Shehu Dikko explained that the presentation was deliberately delayed until the team gathered in Morocco for the defence of their continental title, aiming to boost morale ahead of the 2026 WAFCON.
The Super Falcons, now ten‑time African champions, open their 2026 WAFCON campaign in Group C against Malawi on Tuesday, followed by matches against Zambia on August 1 and Egypt four days later.
The tournament, running from July 26 to August 16, also serves as the African qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, with the four semi‑finalists earning automatic qualification and a fifth team gaining a chance via the inter‑continental play‑offs.
