Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has dismissed mounting criticism regarding his slow start at Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. The forward emphasized his unwavering focus on improving his performance and proving his value to the team.
During a media session, Boniface addressed concerns about his form. He stated, “The media says many things. When you don’t score, people want to comment. But truly, they know nothing about me. I’ve faced challenges before and remain mentally strong. Those who know me understand criticism doesn’t affect me.”
Manager Demands Improvement
Werder Bremen manager Horst Steffen challenged Boniface publicly after their 1-1 draw with Mainz. Steffen remarked, “He attempted to maintain possession upfront. But I kept thinking during the match – he can deliver more. We need better from him.”
The Nigerian international continues working to overcome his current goal drought. Boniface maintains confidence in his ability to regain top form for the Bundesliga side.
