A Nigerian man’s online post about what he witnessed on his way home from work has gone viral, drawing widespread attention.
He described encountering heavy traffic at 5 pm, with cars honking incessantly.
Witness Speaks Out
Amid the gridlock, an elderly gentleman in his seventies, dressed in a brown kaftan, shorts and a knitted cap, appeared on the roadway. The observer, known on X as @the-beardedsina, said he was stunned and saddened to see the man hawking a newly released cheese ball. The senior’s joints looked misshapen and he rocked back and forth, clearly in discomfort.
Seeking Answers
The witness questioned how someone in his seventies could be forced to sell cheese balls on the street, noting that the man ought to be resting at home, supported by pension and elder‑care benefits. He wondered what circumstances had led to this situation and what the underlying story might be. As a brief gap opened in the traffic, he drove away, his heart heavy with sorrow, reflecting on the scene. He added, “I drove, but for some reason a veil of sadness settled over me.”
