Kwankwaso Forecasts NDC Triumph in 2027 Poll
Vice‑presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, said he is confident the party will win the forthcoming 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme, Kwankwaso pointed to rising support in major commercial centres such as Wuse Market and Sabon Gari in Kano, as well as Ibadan, indicating that the NDC’s appeal is spreading beyond its traditional bases.
He added, “Go to Wuse Market and Sabon Gari in Kano, and even Ibadan. I’m not even talking about the South‑East or South‑South. You see, this 2027 election, I think a lot of surprises will spring up in favour of the NDC. Yes, we will win.”
Kwankwaso also reaffirmed that Peter Obi, the NDC’s presidential candidate, would not seek more than one term if elected, citing a signed agreement between Obi, himself and the party that limits the presidency to a single term.
Describing Obi as a man of integrity, Kwankwaso expressed certainty that the former Anambra State governor will honour his commitment.
