Entrepreneur and commentator Isaac Fayose addressed the circulating footage where he was seen singing “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand” with Seyi Tinubu, clarifying that his camaraderie with the president’s son does not signal a defection to the All Progressives Congress.
Fayose explained that he enjoyed a private evening with Seyi Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest and other acquaintances, engaging in candid discussions on politics and various topics before concluding with a joint prayer.
“I shared a meaningful night with Seyi Tinubu, Cubana Chief Priest and the rest of the group. We talked about politics, we covered every subject worth discussing. As I was preparing to leave, Seyi remarked, ‘Uncle Isaac, allow me to escort you to your vehicle,’” Fayose recalled.
He noted that, before parting, they opted to pray together, during which they also lifted prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Fayose emphasized that offering prayers for the president should not be misread as an allegiance shift to the APC, reiterating his steadfast commitment to the Obidient Movement.
“That does not equate to joining the APC. I remain 101% devoted to the Obidient cause. The Tinubu family are like kin to me; I hold Tinubu in high regard, yet I affirmed that we will still prevail over them. This is politics devoid of animosity,” he added.
The businessman also refuted claims that he had accepted money to change political allegiance, stating he has no requirement for financial incentives.
He maintained that political differences should not erode familial bonds or friendships, noting that despite divergent views, he continues to regard the Tinubu clan as close relations.
Fayose concluded by expressing his aspiration for a improved Nigeria, stressing that politics ought not to undermine personal relationships or camaraderie.
