A Nigerian woman turned to social media to explain the deep sorrow she felt after her uncle’s death. She disclosed on her X account (@treatpworld) that she learned of his demise via a telephone call.
The Woman Describes Her Uncle’s Tragic End
She explained that her grief stemmed from discovering that her uncle’s remains remained in his home for almost two days before anyone noticed. Prior to his death, he was ill, and his children were unable to look after him or arrange for a caregiver. Additionally, her 90‑year‑old grandmother received the tragic news from friends and acquaintances. Recalling her call with her grandmother, she quoted: “When I spoke to her yesterday evening, she said, ‘He killed himself.’ She wasn’t referring to suicide; she meant that neglect had taken his life. I felt exactly the same.”
