The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has welcomed more than 10,000 new members who defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The influx includes several local government party chairmen and other prominent political stakeholders.
Strengthening the Party Base for 2027
Party leaders say the massive defection will further consolidate the APC’s political foundation in the state as it prepares for the 2027 general elections. Addressing the newcomers, Governor Idris described the APC as a party that accommodates everyone, regardless of their previous political affiliation.
He urged the defectors to cooperate with existing party leaders and members to strengthen the party’s presence across Kebbi. The governor reiterated the APC’s commitment to unity and inclusive participation, assuring that every member would enjoy equal opportunities within the party.

Speaking on behalf of ADC supporters loyal to Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, Bello Doya explained that their decision to join the APC was motivated by the developmental progress recorded under Governor Idris’ administration.
