Introduction
A Nigerian resident of the United Kingdom has ignited online conversation after revealing that Nigeria also turns down visa requests from foreign nationals.
The Encounter
He said the realization came after meeting a Kenyan woman living in the UK who claimed her Nigerian visa application had been rejected on two separate occasions.
In his own words:
“Nigeria dey deny visa oo. I just realised today that Nigeria do deny visa, and the rate is very high. There’s this Kenyan girl in the UK here. She has Nigerian friends, so she wanted to come to Nigeria this Dirty December to explore and have fun with them. She applied twice, but they denied her visa.”
Woman’s Reaction
The Kenyan visitor became visibly upset while describing her experience, expressing surprise at how difficult it proved to obtain a Nigerian visa.
Man’s Response
He added that she insisted on submitting a third application, hoping approval would finally come.
“She was very upset and even crying. I asked her, ‘You know say na Nigeria you go?’ She said yes. I started bragging, ‘Don’t you know Nigeria is one of the biggest countries in Africa? It is always hard to enter.’ She said she would apply for the third time, hoping they would approve it,” he added.
Online Reaction
Concluding his story, the man urged Nigerians to take pride in the fact that their country also refuses visa applications from foreigners.
His remarks have since triggered a wave of responses online, with many Nigerians sharing their own opinions and personal experiences regarding Nigeria’s visa procedures.
