Davido Shares His Biggest Fear: Knowing When to Quit Music
Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has opened up about his greatest anxiety – not knowing the right moment to step away from music.
The singer said he often prays to God for guidance on when to pack it up, and he wishes he could establish a therapy centre for celebrities who have faded from the spotlight.
“If there is one thing I could build, I would build a therapy centre for people who were popular and very successful. Because it is crazy to be on top of the world and the next moment you are not.”

He drew a parallel with football, noting that even legends like Cristiano Ronaldo face criticism despite their achievements.
“Even in soccer, you win the World Cup, Champions League and other trophies and people still don’t think it is enough. Look at my good friend Ronaldo – after everything he’s done for football, they still laughed at him for exiting the World Cup.”
Davido added that his biggest fear is working hard only to ruin it with a wrong decision, which is why he asks God daily to show him the right time to quit.
