Wike-Backed PDP Faction Uploads Presidential Candidate Names to INEC Portal for 2027 Elections
The Wike-aligned faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it has successfully uploaded the names of its presidential candidate, running mate and National Assembly hopefuls to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal, marking progress toward the 2027 general elections.
Party chairman Mohammed described the submission as a milestone in the party’s election preparations and proof of its commitment to full participation in the forthcoming polls.
He said, “I am pleased to inform all PDP members and Nigerians that our great Party, under my leadership, has successfully uploaded the names of our Presidential Candidate, his Running Mate, and our National Assembly candidates onto the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal.”
Mohammed added that the step demonstrates the party’s pledge to take part in the 2027 polls and that work continues on uploading governorship and State House of Assembly candidates.
He congratulated members worldwide and expressed optimism about the party’s future, urging unity to build a stronger PDP and a better Nigeria.
A screenshot of the INEC portal released with the statement showed the party’s dashboard indicating 410 candidate forms generated, with 367 submitted and 42 still pending.
