A lady shares an emotional bus encounter where a stranger’s confession changed her mind about giving her ₦200 change.
She boarded a commercial bus where the driver owed five passengers ₦200 each. Upon arrival, the passengers, including an elderly man, went to collect their change.
Running late, she initially thought of asking the driver to give her ₦200 to the old man so he would receive ₦400.
Passenger’s confession shifts her decision
The woman recalled, “The bus I entered this morning, the driver was owing 5 of us ₦200 change each. An old man was among us. As we reached the stop, the five of us stepped down to look for change. I was already late, so I wanted to say they should give the old man my ₦200 so he could have ₦400. Just as I was about to speak, the old man said, ‘So all of una no fit leave this money for me?’”
Story triggers online reactions
The tale resonated with many social media users, who noted it reveals the hidden financial struggles many Nigerians face despite outward appearances.
Some praised the lady for choosing to help a younger passenger, while others argued the incident reminds us not to judge people’s circumstances based on age or appearance alone.
