Three Nigerian children, Chimdiebube Onwubiko, Don Anele Munachimso, and Onyedikachi Egejurum, have secured gold medals at the International STEM Olympiad, ranking among the top performers worldwide in the global competition.

Education technologist Alex Onyia shared the news on X, highlighting it as a major milestone for Nigeria’s education sector.
According to Onyia, Don Anele Munachimso claimed the gold medal in Science and emerged as the world’s top performer in that discipline. He added that Munachimso had previously been recognised as Nigeria’s leading student in IGCSE Chemistry.
He also noted that Onyedikachi Egejurum earned a gold medal and stood first globally in Primary Mathematics, while Chimdiebube Onwubiko likewise captured a gold award at the event.
Educator’s Reaction
Reacting to the accomplishment, Onyia remarked that the investment in nurturing young talent is paying off, describing the triumph as “the beginning of greatness for the nation.”
