Amaechi Meets Tambuwal Behind Closed Doors
The vice‑presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rotimi Amaechi, is currently engaged in a closed‑door meeting with former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
The discussion reportedly took place after Amaechi’s name and that of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, were uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) website in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
The ADC had previously announced Amaechi as its vice‑presidential pick for the 2027 presidential race.
The meeting also follows a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja that affirmed Senator David Mark’s leadership of the ADC. Justice Liman ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction to interfere in the party’s internal affairs and that the plaintiff failed to demonstrate a violation of his rights.
As of the time of this report, the specifics of the Amaechi‑Tambuwal discussion have not been made public, though observers suggest it is linked to the party’s election preparations.
Earlier, Amaechi had also held talks with former Imo State Governor Emeka Ihedioha, indicating a broader series of consultations ahead of the upcoming electoral contest.
