Social commentator Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has denounced the altercation involving supporters of activist and former presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore, which erupted outside a courthouse during Sowore’s hearing concerning allegations that he labelled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu a criminal.
Footage circulating on the internet captured members of Sowore’s entourage engaging in heated exchanges and physical confrontations outside the court premises, drawing reactions from onlookers and fellow activists.
One participant who denounced the clash remarked that the internal strife defeated the original purpose of the assembly.
Go home safely, they are now fighting each other. This is unacceptable. How will the authorities regard us seriously? We assembled for a peaceful demonstration and ended up brawling among ourselves.
VeryDarkMan Queries Supporters’ Behavior
In a video shared across social platforms, VeryDarkMan questioned why individuals who had gathered to back Sowore would turn on one another.
You claimed you were present to stand in solidarity with Omoyele Sowore, so why are you assaulting each other?

He suggested that some attendees were motivated not by genuine support for the activist but by the desire to generate social‑media content.
He also noted that certain supporters disregarded prior pleas to refrain from obstructing the court entrance.
Critique of the Obstructed Court Access
Another viral clip cited by VeryDarkMan showed a supporter celebrating the blockade of the courthouse doors while demanding Sowore’s release.
The activist argued that such conduct could impede other court users and give authorities justification to tighten security around the facility.
He pointed out that the Federal High Court accommodates multiple courtrooms handling diverse cases concurrently, warning that noise and disruption could interfere with judicial proceedings.
Judges dislike distractions or noise while presiding over matters.

Appeal for an Orderly Demonstration on June 30
VeryDarkMan urged those intending to attend Sowore’s subsequent court appearance on June 30 to maintain peace, order and respect for the law.
He advised demonstrators to avoid blocking entryways or disrupting court activities, emphasizing that fellow citizens also possess the right to utilize government buildings and pursue their own cases.
According to him, exercising the right to protest must not encroach upon the liberties of others.
He expressed optimism that Sowore’s legal challenges would be resolved favourably and encouraged supporters to continue their solidarity in a coordinated, non‑violent fashion.
If you appear in court on the 30th, please remain orderly, observe the proceedings and refrain from giving anyone a chance to weaponize your actions against the cause.
