Akin Olaiya’s Estranged Wife Accuses Him of Domestic Violence After Marriage Breakup
Nafisat, the estranged wife of renowned Yoruba actor Akin Olaiya, has come forward with serious allegations of domestic violence and emotional distress. Her claims emerged in a viral video released shortly after Olaiya publicly announced the end of their marriage.
In the video, Nafisat confirmed that the marriage had dissolved but disputed the actor’s version of events. She explained that she left the marital home just a few months after the wedding because she was enduring pain, mistreatment, and a feeling of insignificance.
“I left because I’m in pain, I’m mistreated. I feel like I did not matter, and nobody should stay in a home where violence is present,” she said. Nafisat added that the couple had been separated for a considerable period, contrary to the impression created by social media discussions about a divorce letter.
She challenged the notion that she walked away without cause, emphasizing that unseen violence and ongoing issues prompted her departure. Nafisat also noted the significant age gap between her and Olaiya, stating that while many problems existed, she would not disclose the full details of their marital struggles on public platforms.
Olaiya had earlier stated that the marriage collapsed after multiple attempts to reconcile, claiming that his wife refused to return despite family interventions and counseling efforts. Nafisat’s latest allegations bring a contrasting perspective to the highly publicized separation.
