Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has publicly assured President Bola Tinubu that Kogi State will deliver its full support in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. This assurance was made during a rally organized to endorse both President Tinubu and the incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo, for a second term.
Bello advised the President that there would be no need to campaign in Kogi State during the 2027 election cycle, stating confidently that the state has no significant opposition. He emphasized that the people of Kogi are firmly behind the current administration.
Highlighting the achievements of the President, Bello praised Tinubu for his impactful work within the state, noting that this support would continue even after his tenure. He stated, “President Tinubu, you don’t even need to come to Kogi State to campaign in 2027. There is no opposition in Kogi State. Those who are making noise have not seen the lion. When the lion roars, they will run with their tails.”
He further expressed unwavering support, stating, “Every great nation must have a leader that everybody gravitates towards, and Tinubu, you are that leader. We will gravitate towards you even after you leave office. We pray for you, Mr. President, and my governor, Ododo; you will live long in sound health and prosperity.”
Bello also took the opportunity to thank the President for the various benefits brought to Kogi State, including infrastructural development, valuable appointments, and efforts in combating insecurity. He added, “We thank the president for all the good things he has done for us in Kogi State infrastructural wise, appointment wise, fighting insecurity, and more money; Mr. President we thank you.”
Concluding his remarks, Bello expressed confidence in the current administration under Governor Ododo, stating, “Your son, Ododo is doing excellently well and we are pleased with him and under APC we shall get to the promised land.”
