Former Benue State Governor, Gabriel Suswam, has firmly denied rumors that he has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Suswam, speaking during a visit to the residence of Prof. Saasongo Nongu in Makurdi, stated that he is too significant a political figure to secretly abandon his party. He emphasized that surreptitiously leaving the ADC would be a profound disgrace to his reputation and a betrayal of his supporters.
“I am too big to dump the ADC in secret. Leaving the party quietly would be the height of disgrace to my personality and a betrayal to my loyalists,” Suswam declared.
He further reaffirmed his allegiance to the ADC, stating that he remains a proud and dedicated member, focused on strengthening the party and expanding its influence across Benue State and beyond.
Suswam, through a statement released by his media aide, Bede Bartholomew, dismissed the speculation as “baseless, aimless, and a lie from the deepest pit of hell.” Bartholomew clarified that a recent dinner engagement had no political undertones, emphasizing that his principal was merely honoring a social invitation.
