‘If You Intend To Rig, Make Your Will First’ – Otti Sends Strong Warning

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has stated that no amount of threats or plans to manipulate election results in the state in the future will be successful, warning that those considering rigging should first “write their will.”

The governor was reacting to comments attributed to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, who had claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would take over Abia State in the 2027 elections.

Otti, who is a member of the Labour Party, dismissed the claim as political posturing, asserting that the mandate of Abia’s citizens cannot be subverted.

“I have heard that some people around him say, oh, they must take over this state, they must write results. The only advice I have for them is that if they truly want to write results, they should write something else before that time. You know what it is? Their will,” Otti said.

He added that only the will of God and the people of Abia would determine the outcome of the next election.

Otti described Kalu as a “friend and younger brother” but noted that political ambition must not destroy the peace in the state.

“I am not afraid of threats. He is entitled to contest the 2027 governorship election, but he must learn to play according to the rules,” he stated.

The governor also said he had forgiven Kalu for what he described as unwarranted criticisms of his administration.

Responding to speculations that he might defect to the APC, Otti clarified that he remains a committed member of the Labour Party.
