Hon. Maharazu Salisu Faru, the representative for Maradun II Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The lawmaker was joined by over 1,000 supporters in this political shift.
Faru explained his decision, stating:
“After consulting constituents and political associates, we chose APC. It offers better progress and inclusion opportunities.”
“Our people lack meaningful democratic dividends under this government. We refuse continued marginalization.”
The defection followed thorough consultations across Maradun II Constituency’s five wards. Political stakeholders and ward leaders unanimously endorsed the move. Faru formalized his departure through an official letter to the State Assembly Clerk dated October 28, 2025.
APC State Chairman Alhaji Danfulani Maikatako welcomed the defectors. He described their arrival as significant for the party.
“We welcome Hon. Faru and supporters to the APC family. All members receive equal treatment. We urge other PDP members to join our rebuilding efforts.”
