Nigerian music star Wizkid’s eldest son, Boluwatife Balogun, has launched his debut musical project under the stage name Champz. The young artist’s EP achieved remarkable success immediately after release.
Historic Chart Domination
Boluwatife’s EP climbed to #1 on Apple Music Nigeria less than five hours after release. This makes him the youngest African artist ever to achieve this chart milestone. The project also appeared on music charts in 16 countries and reached #71 on the UK Apple Music Top Albums chart.
Solo Creative Journey
The EP features no guest artists, showcasing Champz’s own voice and creativity. His track “Superstar” reflects on early personal experiences and future aspirations, including hopes of becoming a loving parent. Despite facing “nepo baby” criticism, Champz maintains all lyrics are his original work.
Father’s Proud Moment
When Champz announced his EP’s release across streaming platforms, Wizkid responded enthusiastically: “We love it man, he’s my kid you know!” Boluwatife is Wizkid’s first child with Shola Ogudu. Before music, he launched a children’s fashion line at age seven called Czar & Czarina.
