Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has refuted rumors linking Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen with Barcelona, confirming no discussions have taken place between the Spanish club and Galatasaray’s star forward.
Despite Osimhen’s impressive performances sparking interest from European clubs, Romano clarified Barcelona haven’t engaged in talks for the Nigerian international. The Catalan club is reportedly seeking long-term attacking options as Robert Lewandowski nears the end of his contract.
“Barcelona are exploring striker options for 2026 since Lewandowski may leave as a free agent,” Romano stated on his YouTube channel. “However, Osimhen isn’t currently negotiating with any club.”
The transfer specialist emphasized Osimhen’s commitment to his Turkish club, adding, “Barcelona aren’t pursuing Osimhen now. The player remains fully focused on Galatasaray.”
Akın Hails Osimhen as Turkey’s Best Striker
Former Fenerbahçe forward Serhat Akın has declared Osimhen the finest striker in Turkish Super Lig history. “Osimhen is extraordinary,” Akın told Habersarikirmizi. “He’s the greatest centre-forward this league has ever seen.”
While acknowledging Mauro Icardi’s talents, Akın stated, “If I managed a team, I’d choose Osimhen without hesitation. He embodies the dream striker profile.”
