President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Bola Oyebamiji. Oyebamiji emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State. This followed the party’s primary election held on Saturday.
President Tinubu also commended the Osun State APC. He praised the unity and spirit of reconciliation shown. This positive atmosphere preceded and permeated the primary election, which was conducted by affirmation.
Kunle Adegoke announced the affirmation. He is a former governorship aspirant in the party. Adegoke stated that his affirmation aligns with the APC national working committee’s decision.
Adegoke also confirmed that other aspirants stepped down for Oyebamiji.
President Tinubu reacted through a statement. His Special Assistant on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, released it. President Tinubu applauded all aspirants who stepped down for Oyebamiji. He commended them for their party loyalty. He also praised their collective commitment to APC’s ideals.
The President urged Oyebamiji to be magnanimous in his victory. He advised him to embrace all party leaders and former aspirants. This will ensure inclusivity and cohesion. Such unity is vital as the party progresses in the political process.
“The journey to reclaim Osun State for the progressive fold has begun,” President Tinubu stated. “This applies to the 2026 governorship election.”
“I urge all APC members and leaders in the state to remain focused, united, and resolute,” he added. “Victory is achievable. Together, we will succeed.”
