Nigeria’s Super Eagles have touched down in Morocco showcasing cultural pride as they intensify preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The team traveled directly from Egypt after concluding Tuesday’s international friendly against the Egyptian national side.

The Nigerian delegation made a stylish entrance wearing coordinated deep green traditional ensembles. Players sported embroidered short-sleeved tunics paired with tailored trousers, completed with native caps crafted from matching fabric. Footwear ranged from leather slip-ons to casual trainers.
Team spokesperson Promise Efoghe confirmed: “The Super Eagles have touched down in Fes, Morocco.” Nigeria joins football rivals including South Africa, Mali, Senegal, Zimbabwe, Comoros, and Benin who arrived earlier.
Group Stage Challenges Ahead
Drawn in Group C, the three-time champions face Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Super Eagles begin their campaign against Tanzania on December 23 at Fez Stadium. They’ll then play Tunisia on December 26 before facing Uganda on December 30.
Nigeria enters as tournament favorites after finishing as runners-up in the previous edition. Only the top two teams from each group automatically advance to the knockout stage. Four third-placed teams will also progress.
