Senator Abdulaziz Yari, representing Zamfara West, has made a striking claim. He states that President Bola Tinubu is “caged” within the Presidential Villa.
Yari voiced these assertions on Wednesday. He spoke during the One Nigeria Project Conference in Abuja. The former Zamfara Governor alleged that the Nigerian Presidency’s operations are managed from outside Aso Rock.
He expressed concern about the nation’s challenges. Yari believes these problems largely stem from Nigeria’s elite class.
Furthermore, Yari dismissed the idea of foreign intervention. He declared that even former US President Donald Trump cannot resolve Nigeria’s issues.
“America calls itself ‘God’s own country’,” Yari observed. “However, Nigeria is even more so. We have initiated much of the havoc ourselves. Now, we must come together as a nation.”
Yari reflected on Nigeria’s resilience. “Before 1999, various issues arose,” he recalled. “Yet, the country endured. Think of June 12. Many thought Nigeria would collapse.”
He continued, “The God who brought Nigeria together in 1914 is still in charge. He will remain in charge. Therefore, anyone thinking otherwise should not waste their time. Nigeria has come to stay as a nation.”
Nigerians Must Solve Their Own Problems
Yari strongly emphasized national self-reliance. “Do not call Trump,” he advised. “This is Nigeria’s business. Trump has no role here. He cannot solve Nigeria’s problems. Only Nigerians can resolve them.”
He recounted a recent conversation with the President. “I met the President last night,” Yari stated. “I informed him about my attendance at this event. I suggested he watch our proceedings if time permitted. This organization deserves support.”
Yari reiterated his criticism of the elite. “The problem lies with the elite,” he asserted. “People are criticizing President Tinubu. They do so because they misunderstand the full situation.”
“Those close to the Presidency know the truth. The Presidency is run more from outside the Villa than from within. We have already caged the President there. We locked him in. But we conduct the operations.”
He concluded with a provocative question. “Why not consider the trust that has been placed in you?” Yari asked.
