Senator Abba Moro has dismissed claims of his planned defection. The Benue South lawmaker serves as Senate Minority Leader. He stated he has no intention of leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The Senator attributed these defection rumours to “mischief makers.”
His Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, released a statement. In it, Senator Moro called the rumours “ridiculous.” He affirmed he has not discussed leaving the PDP with anyone.
Senator Moro also reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP. He stated he has no plans to defect. This stands despite the ongoing crisis within the party.
“Senator Moro finds this rumour ridiculous,” the statement read. “There has been no discussion with anyone about such a move.” It emphasized that the Senator, a founding member of the PDP, remains dedicated. He is committed to the party’s ideals and values. He will continue to be a part of it.
Addressing the PDP’s internal crisis, Moro expressed confidence. He believes the party’s conflict resolution mechanisms will succeed. He anticipates the PDP will emerge stronger from these challenges.
He urged the public to ignore the defection rumour. Moro described it as the handiwork of “mischief makers.” These individuals are “losing sleep” over the PDP’s ability. They fear the party will rise stronger and more competitive from its current crises.
