Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Segun Sowunmi has issued a stern warning about former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. He stated that underestimating Atiku would result in severe consequences regardless of personal grievances.
During a Friday interview on Channels Television’s ‘Sunrise Daily’, Sowunmi expressed concerns about the PDP’s future. He believes the party is undermining its own electability ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sowunmi revealed that many political elites dismissed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition. This group is led by Atiku Abubakar. Despite Sowunmi’s prior warnings, they failed to take the threat seriously.
“It remains challenging to position PDP for electoral success,” Sowunmi commented. He highlighted the growing influence of the ADC, which many initially underestimated.
The PDP stalwart had previously cautioned about Atiku’s capabilities. “I warned that Atiku Abubakar could deliver PDP’s second heart attack,” Sowunmi stated. “No matter your anger, underestimating him brings costly consequences.”
Sowunmi concluded with a stark assessment of both parties. He observed, “Comparing the ADC and PDP reveals PDP is actively making itself unelectable.” This analysis points to significant internal challenges.
