Satguru Maharaj Ji, the spiritual head of the One Love Family, has indicated his willingness to facilitate Nnamdi Kanu’s freedom. Kanu is the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). This assistance hinges on meeting specific conditions.
Maharaj Ji shared this information during a recent interview. The broadcast occurred on his temple’s internal radio station.
He specified essential prerequisites for Kanu’s release. These include stopping all Biafra radio broadcasts. Another crucial condition is ending the “sit-at-home” order in Nigeria’s South-East region.

Political Resolution Essential for Kanu’s Freedom
The spiritual leader emphasized that Kanu still faces terrorism charges. These allegations typically carry a death sentence under the law. This is the legal reality.
Maharaj Ji asserted Kanu’s continued survival is “by grace.” He added that only a political settlement can secure his release. Legal battles alone will not be sufficient.
“Anyone accused of such acts, like terrorism, faces a death sentence,” Maharaj Ji declared. “Kanu escaped this fate only by grace. Therefore, his freedom now requires a political solution.”
Maharaj Ji further advised that those seeking Kanu’s pardon must take decisive actions. “Their efforts must be substantive,” he cautioned. “They should immediately halt Biafra radio broadcasts wherever they operate.”
Increasing Calls for a Political Solution
Maharaj Ji joins a growing number of influential voices. This group includes Abia State Governor Alex Otti. Activist Omoyele Sowore is also a proponent. They all advocate for a political resolution to this ongoing matter.
He encouraged residents of the South-East to remain hopeful. Efforts towards Kanu’s liberation are actively underway, he affirmed.
Governor Otti had previously visited Kanu in Sokoto prison. He later met President Bola Tinubu in Abuja. Their discussion focused on various options for Kanu’s release.
