Former BBNaija reality star Saskay (Tsakute Ladi Jonah) has opened up about the difficulties she’s facing while studying in Europe, contrasting educational approaches between Nigeria and her current academic environment.
Through a post on her social media platform X, Saskay highlighted fundamental differences in learning methodologies. She explained that Nigerian education emphasizes memorization and repetition of taught materials during examinations.
European education demands deeper understanding. Students must actively explore knowledge beyond classroom teachings. They apply this knowledge to real-world scenarios during assessments.
Saskay admitted grappling with this educational shift. “Schooling in Nigeria made me learn exactly what I was taught and reproduce it in tests,” she wrote.
“European education requires learning classroom content, conducting external research, and applying knowledge practically in exams. It’s a bit of a struggle to be honest, especially since I’ve never learnt that approach before.”
The reality star emphasized her commitment to adapting despite challenges. Her European study opportunity followed a five-year wait filled with doubts. Saskay nearly accepted a different academic path lacking her passion before this chance emerged.
